Jim Carrey Drops $372,000 Bond in Suicide Case

Jim Carrey has abandoned his effort to force the mother of his late girlfriend, Cathriona White, to pay him 372,000 dollars should he win the wrongful death case against him.

The 30-year-old makeup artist took her own life in September 2015, and her mother Brigid Sweetman launched legal proceedings against the Canadian actor a year later, accusing him of providing her the painkillers with which she overdosed.

Cathriona’s ex husband Mark Burton is also suing the actor… separately claiming the Carrey obtained the drugs under the false name Arthur King, despite knowing she was prone to depression and had previously attempted suicide.

Her mother also claims Jim gave her three STD’s.

Carrey vehemently denied the allegations releasing a statement saying he looks forward to receiving the court’s ruling regarding the claims, and once they receive the order and the plaintiffs file an amended complaint with several inappropriate allegations stricken out, they will prepare for trial.

On May 31st, a Los Angeles judge set a provisional date for April 2018.
