Trump Admits He Called Health Care Bill 'Mean,' Says Obama Used His Term

President Trump said in an interview with 'Fox & Friends' that former President Obama used his term 'mean' while criticizing the health care bill.

CNN and several other media outlets reported on June 13 that President Trump had called the House-passed GOP bill aimed at overhauling Obamacare “mean,” during a conversation with a group of Republican senators.
Now, in a "Fox & Friends" interview that aired on Sunday, he confirmed that he did call the House bill "mean," while reacting to former President Obama's claim that there was a "fundamental meanness at the core" of the Senate health care proposal.
"Well, he (Obama) actually used my term, mean," said Trump. "That was my term because I want to see...and I speak from the heart, that’s what I want to see. I want to see a bill with heart."
However, these comments represent a departure from a speech he gave on May 4 after the bill passed in the House.
At the time, Trump remarked, "...premiums will be coming down. Yes, deductibles will be coming down. But very importantly, it’s a great plan."
The president added, "This has really brought the Republican Party together, as much as we’ve come up with a really incredible healthcare plan."
