California has announced that they have expanded their state-sponsored travel ban to include Alabama, South Dakota, Texas and Kentucky. The ban, which started on January 1, already included Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. It bans state-funded or state-sponsored travel to the selected states. The law behind the ban states that since California is "a leader in protecting civil rights and preventing discrimination," it won't support other states that it feels discriminates. "Our country has made great strides in dismantling prejudicial laws that have deprived too many of our fellow Americans of their precious rights. Sadly, that is not the case in all parts of our nation, even in the 21st century,"
