Firefighters Continue to Battle Deadly Wildfire in Portugal

Firefighters continued to fight a fire on June 21 that has been raging in Portugal for five days. Though the fire was 95 percent contained of the Pedrógão Grande fire, firefighters were still fighting pockets of fire near the town of Góis.Since the blaze started on June 17, 64 people from the town of Pedrógão Grande have died. In Góis, 18 people have sustained injuries, 16 from smoke inhalation. Thirty villages in Góis have been evacuated, and 80 Spanish firefighters have joined the 2,300 troops fighting the flames, according to local news reports.In the evening on June 20, pockets of fires were still raging in Góis, as shown in this video.
