Cavaliers let go of GM David Griffin

A key cog in the Cavaliers' efforts to win a championship in 2015 was let go following the expiration of his contract. David Griffin was not resigned by Cleveland after acquiring the likes of Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith over the last few seasons. LeBron James was not involved in the decision-making. Following the news, former NBA champion Chauncey Billups was announced as ca candidate to fill the role. McMenamin reported assistant GM Koby Altman is currently handling trade phone calls for the Cavs.
