President Trump: US 'Did A Good Job Building' Panama Canal

President Trump said Monday that the U.S. "did a good job building" the Panama Canal.

President Trump had an interesting exchange with Panama’s leader Juan Carlos Varela at the White House Monday.
During brief remarks in front of reporters, Trump said, “It's our great honor to have President and Mrs. Varela from Panama.  We have many things to discuss. We're going to spend quite a bit of time today. The Panama Canal is doing quite well, I think we did a good job building it, right?”
Though Trump continued speaking, Varela can still be heard saying, “Yeah. A hundred years ago.”
The canal, which was designed as an efficient shipping route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific, was overseen by then-President Theodore Roosevelt and finished in 1914.
According to USA Today, “the White House said that Trump and Varela would discuss ‘our shared priorities in the fight against transnational organized crime, illegal migration, and illicit substances.’”
