The Supreme Court after hearing from both the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments passed an order, again unfavourable to Karnataka. Despite the fierce arguments placed by Nariman on behalf of Karnataka, the SC ordered the Karnataka Government to release 6000 cusecs of water from 21st to 27th of September and also ordered the central government to appoint a Cauvery Management committee within the next 4 weeks, thereby leaving no powers in the hands of the GoK.
