Alexandria Shooter Reportedly Asked About Party Affiliation Of Those On Field

Representative Ron DeSantis says he believes the Alexandria, Virginia shooter inquired about the party affiliation of those on the field prior to opening fire.

A gunman fired shots into a group of people at a GOP congressional baseball team practice Wednesday morning, hitting Republican Representative Steve Scalise in the hip and injuring others, reports the Washington Post.
Representative Ron DeSantis says he believes the shooter inquired about the party affiliation of those on the field prior to opening fire.
DeSantis, who left the practice before the shootings, told Fox News that at about 7:10 a.m., as he and some staffers were leaving, “There was a guy that walked up to us that was asking whether it was Republicans or Democrats out there.”
He added, “There was no one that was obviously walking around with a rifle at the time, but it was just a little odd that he kind of really, you know, walked up to us to ask and then went ahead — it was probably about three minutes, five minutes after we pulled out of the parking lot.”
Representative Mo Brooks was at the field when the shooting occurred and told CNN that the shooter, whom he somewhat recalls being a white male, fired from behind a dugout at third base.
He also noted, “The gun was a semiautomatic. It continued to fire at different people. You can imagine, all the people on the field scatter."
