Penguins win Stanley Cup in controversial Game 6

The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators 2-0 in Game 6 to win the Stanley Cup last night, becoming the first back-to-back champions since the Detroit Red Wings in 1997 and 1998. The game was not without controversy as the Predators had a goal called back in the second period after one of the referee's blew an early whistle. The Penguins would go on to score in with 1:35 left in the final period before adding another one on an empty net after the Predators pulled their goalie. Sidney Crosby, the Penguin captain, won the Conn Symthe trophy as the playoff MVP for the second year in a row, only the third time a player has won the trophy back-to-back.
