YANGON, MYANMAR — Bodies and debris have been found in the search for a Myanmar military aircraft that went missing this week.

The Y-8-200F Myanmar army plane left Myeik for Yangon on Wednesday at 1.06 p.m. on a regular flight path that is flown weekly, Reuters reported. The aircraft was carrying 120 Myanmar military personnel.

Communication with the aircraft was lost approximately 29 minutes into the flight when it was 43 kilometers west of Dawei.

Bodies and debris from a wreckage were discovered on Thursday in the Andaman Sea, BBC News reported, citing a Myanmar military Facebook post.

Some debris from the aircraft was also found late on Wednesday, 136 miles from Dawei in the Andaman Sea, according to Agence France-Presse.
