"Get your muzzle out of those books and make some friends!" That's what Princess Celestia tells Twilight Sparkle. She may be the smartest unicorn in Equestria, but Twilight Sparkle gets an "incomplete" in friendship. There's more to life than learning magic, after all - so she goes to Ponyville on a mission to make friends. There she meets five special ponies who take her on exciting adventures and teach her the most powerful magic of all... the magic of friendship!
You know there comes to a time in every man's life where he finds himself asking "Why?" Why do things happen? What causes the strange and awful events to play out? Why are all the shows on Cartoon Network so ugly and messed up? Why would a negative show on a family oriented channel have destructive messages and teaches kids to solve their problems in an angry manner (read my DAN VS. review, this cartoon inspired the film GOD BLESS America and lead to the Batman Movie Massacre) get praised?! It shouldn't be on the air to begin with! How come SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS get more airtime on Nickelodeon and not T.U.F.F. PUPPY or FAIRLY ODDPARENTS. Why did Dino de Laurentiis remade KING KONG and made KING KONG LIVES? And here is the point of this review... Why do full grown men ages 18 to 30 love a cartoon aimed for little girls?! This is MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC. To answer this question, these fans, or Bronies as they are called, like the show because the characters are interesting, the writing is clever and the humor is witty (it can make Tex Avery, Bob Clamppet, Chuck Jones and Friz Freling feel proud). I would strongly like to emphasize that I am not a Brony, but the over-the-top muscular pegasus with tiny wings would work well for a parody of this cartoon. Since the day of it's premiere, I avoided the show like the plague for two years. Then I saw a video by Doug "The Nostalgia Critic" Walker talking about Bronies. I saw the documentary on YouTube called BALLAD OF THE BRONY and one of my friends from my film classes (that I am currently enrolled in as well as animation classes) went Brony! I could not believe it. I told my friends about my discovery of Doug's video and his Brony story.
