At least 36 people have died after a lone gunman opened fire overnight in a casino and hotel complex in the Philippine capital, Manila.
Southern Police District Director Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said Friday. Police said the male suspect barged into the casino carrying long firearms, shot an LED TV and then tried to steal chips from a casino storage room. He later committed suicide . Officials insisted that the incident was a robbery attempt, and was not terrorism-related despite a claim by ISIS.
