Rio favela musicians escape violence to concert for pope

In a few days, 26 young musicians from one of the most violent favelas in Brazil will play for Pope Francis at the Vatican. It’s the realization of a dream for the young Brazilians, who were supposed to perform for the pope in July 2013 at the foot of Rio de Janeiro’s famous Christ the Redeemer statue, but who saw their hopes washes away by heavy rain.
