White House chief strategist Steve Bannon who had reportedly been falling out of President Trump's favor, may gain opportunities to make his way back into the fold.
According to Axios, Bannon and president's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, who have said to be engaged in a power struggle, are now battling foes like the mainstream media and the ‘deep state’ together.
Based on information from inside sources, the news outlet reports, “…the bolstering of the White House team to respond to the outside crises is a joint effort led by Kushner, Bannon and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, two sources said. The senior staff that had been out for each other is now united by a common enemy.”
Bannon may also find redemption in the fact that he predicted, months ago, that Kushner’s conversations with key Russian figures could become problematic, notes the Daily Caller.
An NBC report released on Thursday shows Bannon may have been onto something, as Kushner is, according to inside sources, a person of interest in the FBI’s Russia investigation.
The media outlet notes that Kushner has not been accused of any wrongdoing and the specific reasons behind the FBI’s reported curiosity about him are unclear.
