A goat born with only one eye is now being considered a god. It was born on May 10 in rural India - The goat has no eyelashes, eyelids or teeth A very strange baby goat was born a few days ago in rural India. It only has one eye, a condition experts call Cyclopia. This rare congenital disorder is seen in both humans and animals, where the embryo’s front lobe does not develop properly. This leads to the animal not having two separate hemispheres. One in 16,000 animals are born with this condition.
Practically all babies born with Cyclopia, yet the little black goat is thriving, and a video that was taken of it shows how it prances around, and can feed properly. The goat does not have any eyelashes or eyelids, and its only eye is very large for its species. It does not have any teeth either, so its tongue sticks out.
Local villagers are now considering the goat sacred, and its owner, Mukhuri Das, thinks it will bring luck to his family.
Almost two weeks have passed since the goat’s birth, and many people are flocking to the village to take glimpse of the unique animal. Some are starting to worship it.
“I was shocked. It's like a miracle and people have been coming to our place to see this baby goat,” Das said.
