This South Pacific island is the world's worst plastic wasteland

What a dump! A vacant island in the South Pacific is the world’s worst dumping ground. A study posted in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences showed that an estimated 3.7 million pieces of trash is sitting on the beaches of Henderson Island. Litter includes fishing items from boats, razors, toothbrushes, and cigarette lighters. "Land crabs are making their homes inside bottle caps, containers and jars. At first it looks a little bit cute, but it's not. This plastic is old, it's sharp, it's brittle and toxic."Dr. Jennifer Lavers from the University of Tasmania. Scientists hope that people will "rethink their relationship with plastic" after hearing this news.
