This Robot Bird Will Keep Airplane Runways Safe

by Jeff DonlanA robot falcon is being deployed scare away real birds. The Edmonton International Airport will use the “Robird” on their runways to guide real birds away from air traffic. The Robird mimics the flight of a falcon, making other birds think there’s a real predator in their environment. The FAA estimates birds cost $400 million in aircraft damage each year in the U.S.
