President Moon Jae-in carried on appointing senior presidential secretaries.
Ji Myung-kil zooms in on how the new liberal leader is accelerating efforts to round out a new Cabinet.
President Moon has named Jun Byung-hun as the Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs.
Jun was the chief strategy director for the Moon Jae-in presidential campaign.
Prior to that, he was floor leader of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy Party which in late 2015 changed its name to the current Democratic Party of Korea.
He got involved in politics in 1987 and served three terms in the National Assembly.
The hope is Jun's experience will make him a good liaison to parliament to make sure state affairs run smoothly.

For Senior Secretary to the President for Social Innovation, President Moon has chosen Ha Seung-chang.
He also served on the Moon campaign, directing the committee on social reform.
Ha had previously been involved closely with grassroots civic groups and advocating for labor issues.
Ha's background in social advocacy is expected to be an asset in implementing social reform and fostering national unity... as the Moon administration addresses the many social and economic challenges facing the country.

And Senior Secretary to the President for Social Policy will be Kim Su-hyun.
He held several top government posts under the former liberal Roh Moo-hyun government and has worked as a professor of urban policy.
Moon says Kim is well qualified to implement the new government's policies on housing, environment, social welfare, education and culture.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister-designate Lee Nak-yon started his first day in office on Sunday and vowed to do his best if he's confirmed in the nation's number-two post.

"I will exercise the powers of the Prime Minister as stipulated in the Constitution. I understand the heavy responsibility of being a Prime Minister."

He also spent Sunday preparing for his upcoming parliamentary confirmation hearing.
