Woman may have been in the road to help injured animal when she was hit, killed

Police say she had been driving westbound when she stopped and got out of her vehicle in the middle lane. At that point, an eastbound vehicle hit her. Officials speculate that the woman may have been assisting an injured animal. ABC15 crews on scene saw what appears to be a cat deceased in the roadway.
