This anti-Tinder dating app makes you talk to people before seeing them

New-age dating apps want to help you move fast and keep up with the increasingly mobile world but one app wants to do an about-face and its called Appetence. Appetence is free to download on iOS forces users to talk to each other before they can see each other's profile pictures. An algorithm matches people together based on their interests and tastes while they're profile picture is blacked out by a pattern. The more you interact with the person — your match needs 50 likes in order to see your full profile photo and vice versa — the more their profile picture is revealed. Appetence founder Camilla Forsell wants users to use the written word as an art of "seduction" to make things interesting.
