Thunderclap : Govt Cancels Licenses of 8,975 NGOs

Acting strict on the NGO receiving govt funding, government has cancelled licenses of 8,975 NGOs for violation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and failing to file annual returns for the years 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. this action has come after suspending FCRA registration of Greenpeace India and putting foreign donor Ford Foundation on the watch list.
