No effective steps taken to bring back black money, says Ram Jethmalani
  • 7 years ago
Describing the steps taken so far to recover the money as "great fraud on the nation", eminent jurist Ram Jethmalani told a Supreme Court that the "present government is not taking any effective step to bring back the black money stashed away from India". The BJP-led NDA government on Tuesday appointed four Governors and transferred two others, who had been appointed during the tenure of the previous UPA government. The slowdown in the Index of Industrial Production numbers to a five month low of 2.1 percent is a reminder to the Narendra Modi administration that acceleration in economic growth can happen only when the government puts money on the table. The government was forced to defer its plan to legislate and refer the controversial land acquisition bill, along with the GST bill, to parliamentary committees.
