A young job applicant, Zeeshan Khan, was in a state of shock when he was rejected by a jewellery exports company in Mumbai on grounds that he was a Muslim and that it hired 'only non-Muslim candidates'. "I have a copy of the mail where it's mentioned that my application has been rejected because I am Muslim. The email said that we don't employ Muslims, we only hire non-Muslim candidates," Khan told said. The company has reportedly issued a clarification saying the episode was an error and not their policy. It has also reportedly fired the HR trainee who sent the message.
