OROP: Ex-servicemen sit on hunger strike from today across India

Upset over the delay in the implementation of the One Rank One Pension policy, ex-servicemen across the country will go on a relay hunger strike from today. Yesterday, hundreds of retired defence personnel held protests including in the national capital and have sought President Pranab Mukherjee's intervention in the matter. Earlier this month, talks between Mr Parrikar and the ex-servicemen who are seeking a firm date for the rollout of OROP failed following which the retired personnel decided to go ahead with the protest.
