Aishwarya Rai gets legal notice from Sarabjit's sister

Only within a few days of the official confirmation of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan signing a biopic based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian prisoner in Pakistan, Aishwarya found herself stuck in a legal tangle. In the film, Aishwarya was supposed to play Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjit Singh. Now, a woman named Baljinder Kaur sent legal notices to Aishwarya and the film's director, Omang Kumar.

Claiming to be the 'real' sister of Sarabjit Singh, Baljinder Singh warned Aishwarya and Omang from misinterpreting the facts about the identity of Sarabjit's sister. Baljinder also rebuked the makers' claims of Dalbir being the real sister of Sarabjit. This has led to confusion and a series of allegations between Baljinder and Dalbir Kaur.
