Japanese Warship Deployed To Protect Navy Vessel

The Izumo helicopter carrier will escort a US supply vessel that’s en route to a carrier battle group near the Korean Peninsula. The fleet is in Japanese waters, but tensions with North Korea are high as the repressive country has threatened to sink US ships. Japan only recently passed a law that allows its military to come to the defense of its allies. This is the first time it’s been used.
