On Monday night, Jimmy Kimmel opened his talk show with an unusual, heartfelt monologue delivered through tears. Kimmel revealed that his son, Billy, had successful open-heart surgery shortly after his birth on April 21. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host took some time to thank medical professionals, co-workers, friends and family for the support. Kimmel also used the opportunity to urge governmental financial support for the National Institutes of Health, and criticized proposed budget cuts by President Trump.
