Vasse Felix was established in 1967 by Dr Tom Cullity and is the premier winery of Margaret River wine region of Australia. The winery was named after Thomas Timothèe Vasse who disappeared in 1801 while on expedition undertaken by French to map the coast of Australia. Hoping that his winery meets with a better fate than Vasse, Dr Cullity named it Vasse Felix meaning ‘lucky/happy’ Vasse.
