Taliban shot down US military plane in Afghanistan, 14 killed

A United States military transport plane has crashed at the airport in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, killing 14 people, including six U.S. service members. The US soldiers were part of a NATO training and counter-terror mission supporting Afghan troops. Officials said the 11 people on board the C-130 and three Afghan locals on the ground were killed. The Taliban has claimed the responsibility for shooting down the plane.
