Twitter Loses It Over 39-Star Flag Featured In Trump's Birthday Tweet

President Trump’s birthday wish to the first lady featured an image of a flag with only 39 stars. Twitter users were quick to point that out.

On Wednesday, President Trump tweeted a birthday wish to his wife and first lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
The graphic included featured an image of a U.S. flag, which, as Twitter users were quick to point out, had only 39 stars instead of the usual 50, notes Mashable.
Some stuck to the facts, tweeting alerts including, “There are only 39 stars on that flag, sir,” and, “This is so weird: The American flag on @FLOTUS Melania Trump's birthday card only has 39 stars.”
Others searched for a hidden message. One of them wrote, “Wonder which 11 states are slated for destruction?”
Chris Hayes of MSNBC noted this isn’t the first time the star-starved version of Old Glory has been used and posited, “Someone in the WH graphics operation has a 39-star flag saved on their computer as the current flag and is using it [on] everything!”
