Elton John rushed into intensive care amid tour

Elton John was rushed to the hospital after he contracted a "harmful and unusual bacterial infection," forcing the singer to cancel eight shows. The singer contracted the infection while on tour in South America, causing him to spend two nights in an intensive care unit in the U.K. "Thankfully, Elton's medical team identified this quickly and treated it successfully. He is expected to make a full and complete recovery," Elton's rep. The singer is making a return on June 3rd, where he will perform in Twickenham, England.
