What is Kwanzaa?

Kwanzaa has a relatively short history. It starts in 1966, when Maulana Karenga created Kwanzaa to reconnect Afro-Americans with their Africans Roots. It celebrates the seven principles of African philosophy: collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, faith, unity purpose, creativity and self-determination.
