Kerala fire tragedy : Death toll rises to 112, five detained

It was a black Sunday indeed after a massive fire hit Kerala that killed approximately 112 people injuring almost 400 people in Puttingal Devi Temple. Late on Sunday, police detained five people and filed cases against Varkala Krishnankutty and Kazhakoottam Surendran, the contractors entrusted with the fireworks by the temple authorities. The fire that started due to the firecrackers rocketed out of control at 3.30am on Sunday. There were around 15,000 people in the temple at the time of the incident.
