Five persons are missing after a boat capsized while ferrying people on the river Bhagirathi near Kalna in this district, police said on Sunday. The boat sank as it was carrying a large number of people returning from a fair at Kalna to Shantipur in Nadia district. Due to the delay in rescue oprations, the crowd who had gathered at Nrisinghapur Ghat in Shantipur, setting ablaze six boats. A waiting room for passengers was also set on fire.
