Study finds diet soda may raise your risk of stroke and dementia

We all know the health risks associated with drinking sugar-sweetened beverages. But now, a new research is focusing on diet sodas. According to a new study published Thursday in the American Heart Association’s journal Stroke adults who have at least one diet drink a day
are three times more at risk from a stroke or dementia.
The team of scientists from Boston University believe the artificial sweeteners including aspartame and saccharine
maybe affecting the blood vessels, eventually triggering strokes and dementia. The researchers caution that the study only shows an association -- it does not prove that diet drinks actually cause stroke or dementia
