A massive raid was carried out by Income Tax officials on major colleges in Puducherry and Chennai. The premises of the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute and its sister concern Rajiv Gandhi Engineering College at Kirumampakkam in Puducherry were raided. So far 80 crores has been seized in the raids on 30 premises in Chennai and Puducherry.
