The family of Aaron Hernandez wants to donate his brain to science, but officials in Massachusetts won’t let them.
The former NFL player’s body was released back to the family on Thursday, however medical examiners are holding his brain for further investigation into his death.
His family wanted to give his brain to Boston University researchers to examine brain trauma in athletes.
Hernandez’s attorney, Jose Baez, stated that the officials are refusing to hand the athlete’s brain over despite his family’s wishes.
Baez said in a statement that, “If we don't get answers and answers quickly, we're going to court.
It is literally a destruction of evidence.
