ESO astronomers announced they had discovered an earth like planet 'Proxima b'and that the planet is likely rocky, has a mass similar to Earth’s and sits in the “Goldilocks” zone where liquid water could exist on its surface. This planet is is our closest stellar neighbour. it is a mere 4.22 light-years from Earth, or nearly 25 trillion miles.
