Urjit Patel takes over as RBI governor from Raghuram Rajan | Oneindia News

Urjit Patel has assumed charge as the 24th governor of the Reserve Bank of India replacing Raghuram Rajan. The formal oath taking ceremony will be held on 6th September. Patel was serving as RBI's deputy governor since January 2013 and was in charge of monetary policy. He was on deputation from the IMF to the Reserve Bank during 1996-1997.
