When Poi met Abdullah, she never imagined that a decades old international feud would test their bond. Yet, they are now kept apart by poor diplomatic relations between their home countries of Thailand and Saudi Arabia, linked to a mysterious tale of stolen jewels and unsolved murders.
Early this year, Poi returned home and started the Instagram account "AbdullahWishYouWereHere," a collection of artful photos taken around Thailand with a distinctive feature. Each image contains a perfectly centered passport picture of Abdullah.
