Tora Aman bids sayonara to Malaysia

Malaysian publisher Tora Aman which produces manga translated from the Japanese to Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin announced recently on Facebook that it was shutting down its business due to rising costs. It began business in 1993, publishing famous titles such as popular Japanese cartoon Doraemon with company founder John Baptist Chong Kok Ah describing “Doraemon became the bridge between the different races”.

Many fans were upset about the business closure because it was part of their childhood and now such popular titles will not be available in both Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

The Malaysian Insight take a look at the final month of Tora Aman's warehouse operations in Selangor.
