Germany Tests Electric Highway For Trucks

by Jeff DonlanTrucks in Germany may be going green soon. Engineering company Siemens has opened an eHighway test track for their electrically powered trucks. Electricity is transferred from the line to the truck’s motors. The trucks connect to power lines above the track and, when connected, produce zero emissions. If these tests go well, Germany will install these power lines and e-trucks on public roads. Germany’s Environment Minister says the country is aiming for “climate friendly traffic” by 2050.
