PCB bans Mohammad Irfan for a year for involvement in PSL corruption. The Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended Mohammad Irfan for a year and also fined the lanky fast bowler one million rupees for violating the sport's anti-corruption code during the Pakistan Super League. The PCB's anti-corruption unit chief Mohammad Azam says Irfan has admitted he was twice approached by bookies during the PSL, but didn't inform anti-corruption officials in time. Irfan Khan said, I ask the whole nation to forgive me if anyone is hurt by this mistake of mine. I hope you will forgive me. However, Irfan revealed he failed to inform the board as he was under mental stress after his parents’ death. Irfan said, I was approached twice and it was my mistake that I did not report it to PCB’s anti-corruption unit. Irfan had played both the seasons for former PSL Champions Islamabad United. However, adding as a big blow, the ban ruled him out of the upcoming Champions Trophy which is scheduled in England.
