Smith was dropped by Nitish Rana on 36 off Mitchell McClenaghan. RPS needed 13 to win off the final over with Mahendra Singh Dhoni on strike to Kieron Pollard. The equation came down to 10 off 3 when Smith finished the contest with 2 sixes. RPS hit 18 fours and 6 sixes. For the first time in IPL history, Dhoni played a match as non-captain.
