A baby macaque monkey is reportedly coping with the loss of his mother by holding on to stuffed animals.

The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand recently released a Facebook post about the monkey named Mongkood who they believe is at most two months old.
The group suspects he was "poached from the wild, witnessing the murder of his family and then sold" as a pet.
Though he was rescued soon after, the foundation writes that “Little Mongkood is still bewildered and confused as where his mother has gone. He is still crying for his mothers’ care and love, scared and unsure of what his future holds.”
As such, he appears to be finding comfort in some stuffed animals they have given him.
According to the foundation, his species, the Northern pig-tailed macaque, has been categorized as vulnerable, with a high rate of population decline that is expected to continue.
