Heat in Australia causes birds to die from exhaustion

A troubling video has emerged from Innisfail, Australia of dead birds, which are believed to have fallen out of the sky from heat exhaustion.

In the clip, which was filmed on Thursday, the filmer shows seven small birds all lying dead on the pavement.

Temperatures soared to 36 degrees celsius in Innisfail on Thursday as Cyclone Debbie brought inland temperatures to the coast.

There's no way of easily verifying that the heat killed the birds.

Small birds do frequently die flying into windows, but not normally in such numbers in one place.
