In the wake of the report that Michael Flynn has offered to testify on Russia in exchange for immunity, his past comments on immunity pertaining to Hillary Clinton's aides have resurfaced.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing inside sources, that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has offered to testify before Congress about Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia in exchange for immunity.
The Journal noted, "As an adviser to Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign, and later one of Mr. Trump’s top aides in the White House, Mr. Flynn was privy to some of the most sensitive foreign-policy deliberations of the new administration and was directly involved in discussions about the possible lifting of sanctions on Russia imposed by the Obama administration."
In the wake of the report, Flynn's past comment on immunity pertaining to Hillary Clinton's aides has resurfaced.
Flynn said during an appearance on NBC's 'Meet the Press' in September, "Five people around her have been given immunity to include her former chief of staff. When you are given immunity that means you've probably committed a crime."
In a Fox News segment on Thursday, Karl Rove discussed the significance of Flynn seeking immunity, noting, "That tells me his lawyers have told him you either have exposure or if you don't have exposure, let's get some suspenders and belts on you nonetheless...the request for immunity I thought was really troubling."
Meanwhile, President Trump tweeted on the development, "Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!"
Flynn's lawyer, Robert Kelner, also released a statement, noting, in part, "General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it...No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurance against unfair prosecution."
