Bridgegate verdict: Baroni and Kelly get sentenced for 2013 scandal

Bill Baroni, former deputy executive director of Port Authority, received a two-year sentence for his involvement in the 2013 George Washington Bridge scandal. He and former deputy chief of staff Bridget Anne Kelly The plan stemmed from retaliation against Democratic Fort Lee mayor Mark Sokolich, who chose not to endorse Governor Christ Christie during re-election. David Wildstein, another ally of Christie's, confirmed that Baroni and Kelly helped him carry out the plan and spoke with Christie about the closures beforehand. Kelly's sentencing is later Wednesday, and Wildstein received a plea deal and has yet to be sentenced. The scandal hurt Christie's reputations and his 2016 presidential campaign.
