Trump To Senators: An ‘Easy’ Deal On Health Care Will Be Made

President Trump offered assurances on Tuesday evening that health care is still a matter of concern and that it will be resolved.
In delivering a speech at a White House event attended by roughly 55 senators hailing from both sides of the aisle, he said, “I know that we’re all going to make a deal on health care. That’s such an easy one. So I have no doubt that that is going to happen very quickly."
He continued, "I think it’s going to happen. Because we’ve all been promising, Democrat, Republican, we’ve all been promising that to the American people...We are going to be doing a great job. Hopefully it will start being bipartisan."
The optimistic statements come in the wake of an unsuccessful first attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
That effort was opposed by all House Democrats and a significant number of Republicans, notes the Washington Times.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer was asked about Trump's comments on the health care deal.
Spicer seemed to downplay those remarks, noting, "...it was a lighthearted moment...He was having a fun time with the senators there."
