Top Putin critic arrested amid protests across Russia

Russian police arrested hundreds of people nationwide in 99 anti-corruption protests throughout the country against President Vladimir Putin. Opposition leader Aleksei Navalny, who led the protests, in Moscow was among those arrested on Sunday. Thousands gathered in the country's capital along with other cities and towns across the country. More than 1,000 people were arrested in the Moscow demonstrations alone, according to the organization OVD-Info. The state-run news agency Tass later cited that Moscow police confirmed about 500 arrests.
